happy october!

Helloooooo!! [Anyone there?] Did I say I'd be back in September?... I meant October. :) We did it, we moved! And boy do we love our new (rental) home! We've been unpacking boxes slowly and organizing new rooms and the garage (a garaaaage!) for the last month, and just been livin' life (without blogging about it. Ahh, sweet break.) Been playing in the yard (a real-deal backyarrrrd!), running up the stairs, rolling every ball we own down the stairs (note to self: must introduce the Slinky to a certain 3 year old), setting up an office, a big boy bed, a new crib... I'm blown away with the amount of awesomeness a bigger space has been for our family. And as much as I love the excitement of  moving, I think we're gonna stay put here for a long while. It's perfect.

As for the boys, Graham sits up now! wahoo! And eats food, which is always a fun adventure. And Ewan tells me everyday, "I love our new house. I have a room UPSTAIRS!" He's a happy kid, with room now to burn some energy. As for Jeff and me, we celebrated our 7th anniversary with our annual tradition of ordering our wedding cake. We also bought our first antique piece of furniture, which you'd think we brought another newborn into the house... it's our baby that we care for very gently. :)

My list of things-to-do when my 2 year old spends the day with his grandparents is long and extravagant. (Mind you, I still have to bring a 4 month old along so unfortunately the day spa is out of the question.) What did I cross off my list today...  crochet and watch movies, play with graham without interruption, eat cookies in plain sight, and just be lazy and quiet. Ah, quiet. Quiet is nice. And Graham soaked up the quiet and napped better than ever.

And with all the quiet around here, I finally dove head first into Pinterest. I had been holding off with all my might so as not to have one more thing to take away precious sleeping minutes while I'm on the computer late at night. But hey, I tried it and I liked it. It's actually easier to use than I thought, and now I can stop cluttering up my desktop with "inspiration-ies". So far, I have a whoppin' 8 pins. But I can guarantee I'll have a full yarn board stat!

Not only did I have time to myself today, but Jeff and I took a sleeping baby out for a bbq patio dinner and had some sweet time together... ordered drinks, had uninterrupted conversation and laughs, and licked our fingers after sharing a sauced-up artichoke, bbq sandwich, and sugar biscuits. We love Lucille's.

We picked up Ewan from Disneyland, listened to him talk a mile-a-minute about the fun he had with Violet, Nana, and Papa, until his voice faded in the backseat and he fell asleep.

Time for bed for all, we have a rental hunting/appointment planned day for tomorrow.

Remember that extension? Yeah, it's already coming to an end.

6 weeks and counting till the next move!

worth the wait

Hours and hours were spent in a tiny waiting room yesterday. My sisters and I passed the time by catching up on reading ("Heaven is for Real", "The Journals of Rachael Joy Scott") making trips to the basement cafeteria for cookies and chocolate milk, and friendship braclet-ing our hearts out.

 And finally, 18 hours after Felicia's water broke and she rushed to the hospital,

baby made her grand appearance... Abigail Lin is here!

Baby girl is beyond beautiful. Tiny button nose, pouty lips, and holy HAIR! That sweetness was worth the wait, love her! And seeing my sister with baby, an exhausted/excited first-time mom, experiencing that overwhelming love, is amazing. So happy for her and all that is to come.

And now I'm counting down the hours till Jeff gets home to watch the boys again,

so I can hop over to the hospital to spend more time with that fresh, beautiful baby!

well, never done that before

a non-stress test, that is.

A routine, 9:05am appointment turned into a 5 hour, half day event. Thankfully my sis had no where to be this morning, so she and ewan had extra time for fun together. Regarding this morning's unexpected tests, simply put, baby's just not moving. Heartbeats good, ultrasound looked good and healthy (got a new, sweet pic to share with Jeff), he responded to the sound tests, he's just gotten "lazy" as the nurses kindly put it. I'm on a strict, self-monitoring, baby wiggle schedule until I see the doctor again next week. A lot of worry for an early morning, but was so happy to peek at his little face on the monitor. He's pretty darn cute.

On a lighter note... received my etsy package, redvelvet package, and half my diapers.com order when I got home. Liana did a good job as my secretary, signing for everything. I shoulda warned her the doorbell would be ringing a few times today, but then again I thought I'd be home quick enough for the exciting arrivals myself!

Online baby shopping is soooo the new nesting. :)

babies and beanies

26 weeks today. morning fasting finished. glucose test done. filled myself up after with mint m&ms and eggnog.

finished ewan's beanie. currently eating chocolate cake. all in a day's work. :)

We met up for a picnic at the park with our babies.

We just finished off the end of a long, relaxing weekend

with three, vanilla-pumped, hot chocolates... with giant marshmallows.

 Ate lots of yummy homecooked meals. And took one picture all day on thanksgiving.

 Had giant family game marathons friday and saturday. Scrabble, nertz, speed/spit, wii dance party...

even hit the courts for a little tennis.

And to round out my growing belly, a Sprinkles run after church this morning.

Had a chilly holiday, a little rain saturday night, and a super windy day today.

But kept warm with my snuggly family of three,

plus the bunches of friends and family

loved and hugged all weekend.

So very thankful for this beautiful, blessing-filled season.

september has come and gone

Between the scheduled birthdays, anniversaries, and doctor appointments,

here's what my cell phone captured during the month of September.

 We went to Disneyland. Shocker.

...and then went again. :)

...have tried to figure out what I am willing to eat.

Last pregnancy was all about cravings. This time around I have serious food aversions.

As you can see, I skipped Jeff's steak and potatoes for french toast and apple juice.

And no deli meat (or any meat right now) for me. Instead I go for avacado, carrots, cheese, lettuce on rye.

...set up this late birthday present in ewan's room. He's crazy about it. And also just plain crazy. :)

...found my misplaced jewelry, finally came home with a sunday school craft (ewan usually refuses to particpate. beats me.),

updated the dvr with the new fall shows (rip 24 and Lost), and played some yatzee.

...nursed a fever, and a serious bump on the head. Craigslisted some furniture (I'm in declutter mode!),

and never finished reading Eat, Pray, Love. I kinda hated it. Booooooring. (I missed the movie too. Oh well.)

And here's Divot. He needs a little mention every now and then. :)

I seem to have painted a pretty picture that all we ever do is go to Disneyland.
