EASTER

I have just a few pictures from easter this year. It was sweet, and family-filled as usual. We spent good friday in the park, with picnic and worship // saturday was easter at my grandpas house with my family // and the pics above were taken easter sunday at church and then jeffs family's house. And just like last year, the boys in bowties.

It is written, he has RISEN! Hope you had a happy day celebrating!

MEATBALL

So Jeff's in the middle of finals. I don't know if I've even mentioned it on the blog here. He's taking one tonight which will then make it (three down, two to go). We went through the last stretch of finals in summer so I was prepared to have him stressed every minute of the day, and gone at school a lot. But I was not prepared for how hard five finals would be in the month of december. The month for family get togethers, holiday activities, church events, tree decorating / movie watching / hot chocolate / christmas cards... he's missing december. And I'm exhausted from trying to keep up with the holiday busy on my own, while making it exciting and special for a 4 year old and almost 2 year old who are wide-eyed and christmas ready. Buuuut, it's almost over. Next monday is Jeff's last final. And THEN our december as a family will finally begin!

Yesterday was a rare night with Jeff home for dinner with us, and it was the best time we've spent together in weeks! Graham is learning new words daily, and Jeff took a video with his phone of the entertainment last night.

Aaaaand it really was bread he had. But boy did it feel good to just be silly for a minute. MEATBALL!

FINALLY

BABY'S FIRST STEPS!! At 15 months, Graham finally got brave! For a while now he's popping up mid-floor to stand and clap, and then plop back down. In fact, I was happy to have him not walking for as long as possible. I wanted him to stay baby forever. But I knew walking was coming soon... this video was just taken this morning! Takes me back to memories of our first tiny walker in the house.

Aw, baby firsts. It's pure joy for everyone.

And now I'm off to take this baby and his brother to Disneyland today!

xo!

TWELVE MONTHS (TWO MONTHS AGO)

Once upon a March, Graham turned one and I did my best to capture the baby memories...
as fast as I could capture that sweet face...
before he would get wiggly...
and swipe the board clean...
and crawl away like a bandit.
How 'bout we clap...
or talk on the cell-foot...
oh hi, baby boy.
hooray for 12 months!
and the toy I'm dangling for your attention. :)

And that'll do it. Twelve monthly photos for the books. A one year project, done!
And just in time, before he really gets mobile.
Graham at 12 months (really 14 now) is still my baby. He still wears onesies, drinks from a bottle, and sleeps on his back. Total opposite from a 12 month Ewan who was drinking from a cup, wearing toddler clothes, and walking. No walking yet for Graham, but lots of talking. Mama, dada, baba, bear, ball, bubble, more, doggie, divot, up, down... also opposite of his brother who was using baby sign for two years.

Graham is my sweet squish. Although I see a bit of crazy boy energy starting to show. Just yesterday he climbed to the top of the slide right behind his brother. And loves a good water gun or light saber fight.

To explain the mish-mash of a blanket above...
all three were started during Graham's first year, and all three remain unfinished. Story of my crochet life. Someday I'll finish at least one of them for him to keep.

A 12 month wrap up of all blankets and baby chub coming up!
...before he's two. :)

see graham grow:
{month one and two}
{month three}

ELEVEN MONTHS

{chalkboard: rachel denbowhere, crochet blanket thrifted a few weeks ago}

Today was the last day of graham's first year. I can't believe it. And I'm doing a bit of reminiscing with these photos and the whole rest of them from the past year (like these, and these).
My sweet bear, it was way too fast.

babiekins: wild things!

Thanks to a super sweet phone call from my friend Heather, Graham was invited to be the "baby" and me the "mom" for the Wild Things shoot for Babiekins Magazine. Coolest thing I've ever done in my mom days. And the Kenney/Rome team made me feel like a supermodel with a big confidence-boosting, beautiful sun hat and lens flare captured for miles.

Ewan was with me, and snuck in a couple of shots after he saw Heather pull out the painted sticks and feathered arrows for the boys to play with. The other kids in the spread are professionals from agencies. And they made it look effortless. I was trying to follow the girls' lead, but they clearly won the pout contest. Leave it to the professionals.

Finally getting to see Heather do her styling first-hand was a treat! We've been friends since she was pregnant with Pip, and I love seeing her have so much success as she shares her talent! And homegirl Jessie Kenney is from my hometown and took these photos when Graham was 8 months old. I will treasure them always.

it's a crawl-eat-crawl world

Did I tell you... GRAHAM CAN CRAWL! Finally.

And totally, that was food bait. French toast.

It's been an exciting, exhausting week keeping up with the busy body. I'm on constant safety patrol, and Ewan is a little lost as to how to have his own play space without Graham barreling through and eating everything. Baby boy is definitely making up for lost time.

We also moved Graham out of our room and into Ewan's. So far so good. But there have been those mornings when Graham's up first and we hear Ewan respond to his cries with, "stop all the racket! i'm trying to sleep here." Exact words. Jeff and I get a good giggle on that one.

Ah, they kill me.
Now 10 months and 3... It just doesn't seem that long ago that I posted
a 3 month old and a 2 year old in the bed.
......
Oh, and that 10 month old can do puzzles.
genius, i tell you.
