FINALLY

BABY'S FIRST STEPS!! At 15 months, Graham finally got brave! For a while now he's popping up mid-floor to stand and clap, and then plop back down. In fact, I was happy to have him not walking for as long as possible. I wanted him to stay baby forever. But I knew walking was coming soon... this video was just taken this morning! Takes me back to memories of our first tiny walker in the house.

Aw, baby firsts. It's pure joy for everyone.

And now I'm off to take this baby and his brother to Disneyland today!

xo!

button boys at disneyland

Ah! I've been dying to share our disney day! It was the BEST day.
Ewan chose his favorite ride as Graham's first.
In the tiki tiki tiki tiki, tiki room...
ready, set, timer!
found a new favorite... fried green tomato sandwich/sweet potato fries.
bumped into pluto in toontown, and was later reunited when pluto spotted ewan along the parade route. big points for pluto, ewan was the happiest boy ever. and still talks about his bff.
aunt aimee, err incredi-girl, was the superhero of the year for signing us into the parks.
...and later joined us incognito for the parade.
 CHEEKS!
 Pretty summer parade.
Too loud, summer parade.
Ah, mary blair gallery, I love you. And want to buy everything in you.
But Jeff said, pick ONE. So I did. :)
And main street, you are beautiful. Thank you for another forever-favorite-memories visit.
........
We spent the day at Disneyland last friday, also known as Jeff's last day of freedom.... because on saturday morn, we sent a disneyland-pooped daddy off with his new backpack, piles of books, and lots of kisses... it was first day of law school! 9am-6pm. Then he started his work all day/school all night schedule this week... Monday, Tuesday, Thursdays, 7am-10pm. It's gonna be a long 4 years.

a warm spring weekend of firsts

first beach trip of the warm weather season.
first night in a big boy bed.
first trip to a restaurant.
first ever beach trip of his little life.
first wyder's after baby. :)

graham turned 1 month old last thursday.
which means we are venturing out of the house,
resuming our regular family rhythm, but as a party of four now.
first stop, lucille's!
i could live on their apple butter and sugar biscuits.
we always order the grilled artichoke appetizer.
and don't get me started on their steak sandwiches.

hope you had a happy spring weekend!
*******

*as for the big, anticipated bed transition... ewan only peeked his head in our bedroom 3 times throughout the first late night, early morning. now naptime is another story. he's popped his head out every 5 minutes while i sit here typing this... time to go tuck him back in... :)

And we're driving...

Drive, Drive, Drive, Mount Shasta!

Drive, Drive, Drive, OREGON!

Drive, Drive, Drive, SWITCH!

Trees, Trees, Trees, TREES!

FAMILY!
We made it to our 4 day destination. Salem, Oregon.
Played. Golfed. Graduated. BBQ'd. Rocked out. Celebrated big... Graduation, Father's Day and 2 Birthdays!

Rockband and Guitar Hero were inseparable.
And Ewan saw his FIRST movie theater movie... Toy Story 3!
Cousins! Lots of cousins!

We love you guys! Now it's YOUR turn to come visit! :)
...............
And that was the end to our 3 person roadtrip. Ewan flew home with Jeff's parents, and Jeff and I started the 3 day/2 person roadtrip back home. Can you say early anniversary vacay? :)

road trippy

Ewan LOVES this commercial. And it's going to be us in a few days... 3 characters, road trippin' up the California coast, in our Kia Sorento. 2004 Sorento, mind you. :)

Wahoo! So excited for my first road trip! We've made the 4 hour trip to vegas numerous times and that's about as road trippy as I've gotten. Jeff on the other hand did a cross country trip in '08 with his brother from CA to Missouri, so he's ready and willing to do most of the driving. The other exciting part... it's my first time beyond the borders of Southern California! Who knew there was life beyond Los Angeles? Kidding. But can't wait to see Monterey, San Fran, Napa, Sonoma. I've rambled on for weeks to Jeff about how I want it to be just like the movies... feet propped up on the dashboard, windows rolled down, spontaneous stops for pretty coastal views, fumbling with the map spread across the dash, and lots of picture taking, eating junky gas station food, and peeing in bushes on the side of the road. :)

Speaking of Jeff, our destination for this coast roadtrip is Portland, Oregon. After years of dedication to his online business classes, he's graduating! On Father's Day weekend to boot. His family is flying up for the ceremony, and we're all staying with his extended family in Salem. Super fun!

Last on the to-do list before we leave early Monday morning... celebrate my niece's 1st birthday, packing x3 peeps x10 days, update the Jack Johnson playlist with his new cd, and hit the store for a styrofoam cooler, string cheese, cheetos, and little debbie swiss rolls.

See you in 2 weeks!
